August’s Class is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th 2019  6:00pm-approx 9:30pm

Our Permit To Carry Classes are informative, entertaining and most of all non-intimidating!  We teach the class as if it’s the first time everyone attending is hearing the information for the first time, because for a lot of people, it is.  So if you’re an absolute newcomer to firearms, have never handled a gun before and are nervous about being intimidated or feeling dumb- DON’T BE!

Some of the topics covered include:
– Laws- We cover Iowa Codes 704 & 724 that pertain to Concealed Carry in Iowa
– What you can and cannot do when carrying a firearm
– Iowa’s Stand Your Ground Law and how it applies to you
– How to get your Permit once you’ve completed the Class
– Where you can and cannot carry by law once you have your permit
– Firearm Safety
– What firearm is best suited for you- we pass around 15-20 of the most popular concealed carry
pistols so you can handle them an.
– Different types of ammunition and what type is best suited for a particular situation
– Different types of holsters
– Discuss different firearm accessories such as lasers and lights
– Other training that is available to further your education and skill

Once you get your permit, it is valid in the following states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

Cost for the Class is:
$40 if you are getting your permit for the first time.
$20 if you have a permit and would like a ‘refresher’ course.
$15 if you are current Military or are a Veteran.  We know that you don’t have to take a class to get your permit if you are a Veteran. However, we feel it is very important that everyone who chooses to carry is familiar with laws, ect, so we offer a deep discount to encourage Veterans to attend a class before getting their permit.
